Say where you are, who is present and what the mood is. Concrete sensory detail gives the model something to build on and anchors the generated art.

Pace the turns

Do one meaningful action per turn instead of several at once.
React to what the character did before you introduce something new.
Ask questions in character to pull the other side forward.

Break the loop

If replies start repeating, change the environment or add a complication: a noise, an interruption, a decision with a cost. New constraints force a new response.
